Shinoj Choran is a contemporary artist whose thought-provoking and satirical works critically engage with society, politics, and the complexities of modern life. Drawing from both his rural upbringing and urban experiences, he blends diverse mediums with a sharp “tongue-in-cheek” visual language, often incorporating elements of popular culture to spark reflection and critical thinking.

He holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Fine Arts from RLV College, MG University, along with UGC-NET in Visual Arts. Shinoj received the National Research Fellowship (2012–2013) from the Ministry of Culture and is an active art educator, having taught at various institutions. He also contributes regularly to art writing platforms such as Chithravartha and Truecopy Webzine.

Shinoj has showcased his works in several major exhibitions, including solo shows at the Kerala Lalithakala Akademi (2013, 2025), National Exhibitions by the Lalitkala Akademi, SCZCC Annual Exhibition, and Lokame Tharavadu (2021). He is the recipient of the Kerala Lalithakala Akademi State Awards (2013, 2018).
